Health Minds. Healthy Lives.
Moodles (formerly Whatsitsface) was created by Joanna Paul, a parent of two children. At the time, she was inspired by her incredibly imaginative toddler girl who had a love for pretend play, and a two year old boy who was starting to learn emotions, but was uninterested in the traditional “feelings books” which displayed babies faces. Her son was also struggling with speech and learning delays and underwent a plethora of early intervention therapy. During this time, Joanna met with many families who also struggled with similar problems, including many with children on the Autism Spectrum who had challenges with identifying facial expressions, along with learning and expressing emotions. So, using her own creative background as a graphic designer, Joanna undertook several years to create a toy that not only boosts pretend play but helps children learn emotions through play. Learning through play is not only intuitive for children, but impactful. Helping children, equipping parents with tools to help children and spreading awareness of positive therapeutic opportunities has became her life’s mission.
Since launching her toy in 2019, Moodles has been widely received by children, parents, therapists and educators. To continue her passion, Joanna is working with the medical and educational community to provide even more guidance to families to help build a better mental outcome for their children. Look for even more to come from this mom on a mission!
